Chemical resistance and weather resistance, in addition to the molten alkali metal, the polytetrafluoroethylene is not corroded by any chemical agents. For example, concentrated sulfuric acid, nitric acid, hydrochloric acid. Even if it is boiled in aqua regia, its weight and properties are unchanged, and it is almost insoluble in all solvents. 

Electrical performance PTFE has a low dielectric constant and dielectric loss over a wide frequency range, and has high breakdown voltage, volume resistivity, and arc resistance.

Radiation resistance The radiation resistance of PTFE is poor, and it is degraded by high-energy radiation. The electrical and mechanical properties of the polymer are significantly reduced.


PTFE has outstanding excellent comprehensive properties, high temperature resistance, corrosion resistance, non-stick, self-lubricating, excellent dielectric properties and low friction coefficient. Used as engineering plastics, it can be made into PTFE tubes, rods, strips, plates, films, etc. Generally used in corrosion-resistant pipes, containers, pumps, valves, and radar, high-frequency communication equipment, radio equipment, etc. with high performance requirements. Adding any filler that can withstand the sintering temperature of PTFE in PTFE can greatly improve its mechanical properties. The filled varieties are glass fiber, metal, graphite, etc.
