Innovation and development of seal technology

Rubber and plastic seals are the important basic components of mechanical products, and their manufacturing precision is higher. With the rapid growth of automobile manufacturing and car holding quantity in our country, the seal products need high precision technology and equipment support both in structure and in materials. In recent years, some enterprises specializing in the production of seals in China have adjusted their industrial structure and product structure in a timely manner in order to develop rapidly. Development trend of rubber and plastic sealing materials

The formulation and processing technology of nitrile, hydrogenated nitrile, fluoroelastomer, acrylic rubber, polytetrafluoroethylene and other special rubber materials are commonly used in rubber and plastic seals. The application performance and utilization rate of the materials are still the focus of the work. The application of nanomaterials will enhance the mechanical properties and special functions of rubber and plastic materials. One of the first four national standards of nanomaterials issued by the National Standardization Committee is the "nano Zinc Oxide" standard for rubber.

Special engineering elastomers replace low performance oil resistant rubber, surface treatment of rubber bright surface, modification of rubber and plastic materials by nano technology and application of liquid rubber materials, some progress has been made in recent years. In particular, the application of some new materials in recent years has played a great role in promoting rubber and plastic sealing technology.

In our country, the relatively weak thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) used in the sealing parts has the physical properties of vulcanized rubber and the processing property of the thermoplastic resin. The molding process does not need vulcanization, thus it is used as the third generation of rubber.  TPO, TPV and TPU in the main varieties have been widely used in the world: the application of TPV in automobile has increased by 15% annually, generally it is all crosslinked compound of EPDN and PP, which combines high tensile strength, oil resistance and heat resistance, and can endure 150 C hot oil working conditions for a long time, and can be used instead of EPDM to produce automobile seals and other products; TPO is present. Most of the products are made up of three yuan ethylene propylene and polyethylene components. The production processes include mechanical blending and dynamic vulcanization. In the TPO produced by the dynamic vulcanization process. The rubber components are as high as 60 to 70%, and wear resistance, ozone resistance, tear strength and compression deformation are small. The comprehensive performance is better than that of three yuan EPDM vulcanizate.

The United States, Western Europe and Asia are continuing to build TPO production equipment. TPU also has excellent plastic processing performance and physical properties of rubber. Its wear resistance, low temperature resistance and radiation resistance are excellent. The applications in automobile, aeronautics and Astronautics, medical and health, daily necessities, military materials and other industries have been made great progress, and TPU can be widely used. It is used in automobile shock absorbing pad, bushing, bearing bush, shaft sleeve, air bag and so on.
